About

What is there even to say… Oh? H-hello stranger! I didn't expected you to visit so soon! Welcome to Quissumiverse - my little hidden corner in the digital space. Well, not "that" hidden because you found your way here (Who left the door open again?!)

The webmaster is...not ready

I'm Quissumi on the web, a wannabe artist living in Germany. I coined the name when I wanted to start as a content creator years ago, so I made an account on every big social media platform (just in case you know!). Like all projects of mine, I got stuck in the ideation/ preparation phase and never truly created anything. Around my university days, I went through the hardest time of my life, but that's when I also had a boost of creativity. I remember staring at the white ceiling in my tiny student room, with wet swollen eyes next to a pile of clothes lazily folded weeks ago and thinking: "My only wish is to leave an impression on someone."
I think in those moments something shifted inside me, perhaps I've always known that I was miserable. I tried the "standard course of life" of school - university - work - family - retirement. Above average, but nothing special. Looking back I just want to hug my younger self, because she missed out on so much stuff. She never had the courage to stray away from the path and try out new things, which pushed her into a dead end that utterly destroyed her whole understanding of the world.

Inevitably I quit university and moved in temporarily with my mom again. My mom couldn't understand my condition at that time, she probably still hasn't, but it forced us to work through all the past grievances. I'm glad that we could, because now I can love her without resenting her anymore.

Why am I telling you all this? It's all "Quissumi" is about; my feelings about my existence and place in the world. It's a combination of "quis sum" - Latin for "Who am I?". I've always asked myself that question in one way or another. From the few snippets of memories I have, I would say that my childhood and adolescence was neither bad nor good. Unremarkable, not worth remembering. Maybe that's why I love to daydream and create stories that seem far more interesting than my reality could ever be. But! I am getting better, still confused but better, in case you wondered.
Having a part-time job is a huge relief for me, so much so that I can't imagine working full time anymore (LOL). I'm in the fortunate position where I'm financially stable and also have more time/energy for my hobbies. Proof is this website which was on my To-do-list for a long time. I dabbled into web design when I was around 13. The coding was intimidating, but exciting at the same time. Although, in the end it was too complicated for my child brain (and I had no idea what to put on the web). So I eventually lost interest.

I discovered Neocities in 2024 or so through a Youtube video. But considering having my own webpage only started recently (2026), because I needed an alternative to Youtube for my social media detox (It's a love-hate-relationship)... Maybe it will get abandoned like all the other projects, maybe I will build it up to a point it does justice to my visions. But for now I'm having fun making it.

The purpose of Quissumiverse

I originally intended it to be a simple portfolio for my art. After visiting so many different indie websites, I also want it to be my treasure trove, my time capsule and my library of thoughts and interests. I wish I was more passionate about my hobbies, so I'd have something to show. Consistency has never been one of my strengths ^^; Due to my everchanging nature and inconclusive identity, I think it would be nice to have a collection of all things I care about in one place. No expectation, no need for perfection, just for me. Maybe this website will help me to keep working on my dreams, even if they are incomplete. Like they always say: Make it exist first, make it good later!

My highest priority is to make it interactive and fun to explore. Especially the lore about "Quissumi" and my five Main OCs - which have been with me since I was 16 (crazy). I hope that I will finally focus and make their story a reality (because my notes are full, I just need to finally draw…)

Anyway, I overshared again, didn't I… Oh well, you get the gist of it! I may be slow with updates and still have a long way to go, but every journey starts with a step.
Happy browsing!
