If I had to tell you when or how I came into existence, I could not say. At some point in time, somewhere in a
vast sea of darkness, a seed of consciousness has formed and I
was born. In contrast to the void around
me, I seem to glow just like all the other specks in the distance. Floating in nothingness was all I could do.
It wasn't truly "nothing", it was still some kind of space. I could observe sparkling in
different
light and intensity, some appearing or disappearing, though never in immediate reach to me. I wasn't able to
discern if they were the same as me
or something different. Concepts like time and space had no meaning.
Who knows how long I've been
already.
I'm not sure if you could call me
a body. The me
was neither solid or fluid, whole or dispersed,
the closest
way I could describe myself is a bundle of liquid light. You know lava lamps humans invented for entertainment?
Something like that. By chance, or perhaps you can call it fate, I discovered a strange ability by swishing
around my whatever-matter-you-think limbs in the void.
A tear in the fabric of reality has opened. As I gazed through it, I could see different versions - perhaps
perspectives is a better term - of myself. Inside out, backside, upside down, left, frontside, right, twisted,
far away, from above, closed-up, from below, warped, tilted, distorted; like a mirror broken in a million shards
reflecting a different side of me. It was disorienting, but I could instinctively tell that this new space was
still me
and that it was safe for me
to enter.
This other dimension was as bright as myself, very different to the void I knew. The tear closed behind me and
now I was standing inside myself
. That's the best way to describe it, although it's probably futile to
explain
a higher-dimensional plane of existence. At first, it was hard to navigate through with my perception all over
the place. I got used to it gradually and at an eternally slow pace, but time still wasn't a concept for me.
