While staying I have learned some new things. After my perception stabilized, I was able to explore the space. There are structures which resemble tall buildings, stairs and long hallways. Some are more abstract and expand infinitely, others feel familiar and normal. How would I know what “normal” is anyway? Some giant glass-like shards and broken pillars float over the buildings, where I can get a good overview from. I even found a labyrinth, but somehow I always end up at the entrance again. One thing that never changed is the pure white light that flushes through every corner. There was no single dark spot, so I named this space the “light sphere”.
I've been wandering around for a while. There isn't much I could do else. Returning to the “dark sphere” might
not be possible, as waving around aimlessly doesn't work this time. Sometimes I sit on one of the floating
pillars and when I do, questions start to form. What am I supposed to do? Why am I here? Who is me
? Where
these thoughts come from also is a question in of itself. As I was lamenting over my meaningless existence, a
circle of gates suddenly appeared in the middle of an empty plaza.
I descend from my pillar and land in front of one gate. At a closer look, it seems to be made out of light which
doesn't resemble anything I know so far. Upon touching it, the gate starts to reflect an image of myself
.
I
haven't seen me
lately, but compared to before my reflection transforms into something else. The
silhouette
becomes someone
with a long veil covering most of their face, a fabric of cosmic light wraps around their
entire body. They silently stare at me, until a voice is ringing inside of me.
"C̷̸̵̸̷R̴̵̷̴̸E̶̶̷̵̶A̷̵̴̸̴T̷̷̵̴̴E̵̵̵̴̶-"
"?"
"T̷̸̵̸̷H̴̵̷̴̸E̶̶̷̵̶M̷̵̴̸̴.̷̷̵̴̴ T̸̴̶̵̵H̶̵̵̶̴E̴̵̷̸̵ W̵̵̸̷̷O̶̴̴̸̵R̴̴̸̴̶L̸̸̷̵̷D̷̴̶̷̶."
"What?"
They seem to think a bit, then point at the other gates.
"G̷̸̵̸̷O̴̵̷̴̸-̶̶̷̵̶-̷̵̴̸̴ G̶̴̴̸̵A̴̴̸̴̶T̸̸̷̵̷E̷̴̶̷̶S̶̵̴̷̸-̸̶̸̵̸-̸̶̸̵̷ O̴̷̶̴̶P̴̴̴̵̴E̶̶̵̸̶N̵̶̶̷̴ T̷̸̸̷̸H̴̴̵̸̴E̴̴̶̴̴M̴̶̴̸̴."
The image fades away, but the silhouette stays in front of me. At the closer look it is my reflection, and I have assumed their human-like shape. Although I can't make out the words they said exactly, I somehow know and go to the next gate.
I touch the gate, but this time, instead of a reflection, a vertical line draws through the middle and opens it. The blending light floods through the gaps, until it consumes me whole.
